pmma plastic fibres have limited working temperatures and exceeding these temperatures by connecting light sources not intended for use with this fibre type can cause damage and even fire hazard
Generally glass fibres have a far greater flexibility and are able to operate over a very wide temperature range during a far longer lifespan.
If you are at all unsure about the system components consult PAR Opti engineers who can explain safety requirements as well as specifying a fully certificated system.
